Baby Roth #2 will be here TODAY!!!

Well my friends - today is the day. A 2nd girl will be added to the Roth Family. We will be a family of four! I now have two car seats in our "van". I washed some of Molly's old baby clothes. I can't remember her being that small. Of course this baby should be a lot smaller than Molly (she was 9lbs, 11oz and 22" long). I can't believe we'll be holding a teeny tiny baby that will fit into those teeny tiny socks in about 7 hours.
Yesterday my sister and I took Molly to dance class (where she does not like to participate in a group situation but still enjoys going). We played at the park (photo above). I talked to lots of mommies about birth. I ran into my friend (and very talented photographer) Suzanne with her sweet baby Diego.
Here's a photo of the girls' room (ocean themed) and one of me after I got my hair done. It was very nice day yesterday. I stayed pretty calm for the most part.

I'm listening to Interpol "Obstacle 1" right now - Brian's i-tune library is on party shuffle.

It's almost 5:30 am. I go into the hospital for surgery prep at 10am and baby should be here sometime around 12:00ish.
Oh lovely MAY babies: Brian & Esperanza's b-day is on Saturday! We will still be the hospital. My mom's b-day is on Monday. Who else - Happy Birthday to Liz and Annie and Seamus! And Shirlene's b-day was last week too! I hope I didn't forget anybody. Love you all!
Well since I'm extending birthday wishes... Happy Mother's Day to all you mommies out there!

Thank you all so much for all your support, love, and friendship. I can't tell you how much you all mean to me. I'm so lucky to have so many people who love us and care about us.
It's now almost 6am. Vampire Weekend "M79" just came on. Good tune. Not sure what I'm going to do for the next 3 hours. I can't eat or drink before surgery and I for sure can't go back to sleep. Maybe watch Beauty & the Geek, take a shower and breathe.
Love,
Cielo

Ready, OK!

So it's Sunday night around 9pm. This weekend was wonderful - super relaxing which was MUCH needed. Only 2 full days to go! I'm so excited and nervous and anxious and just plain crazy. I'm nesting big time. I cleaned out the linen closet, have to make sure the dishes are done and bed is made and things are straightened up (at least as much as is possible since there is still so much to do to get this house the way we want it). The girls' room is the closest to being done - it's painted (needs some touch ups) and has curtains and is underwater themed. Molly has Little Mermaid sheets on her big girl bed and the baby's crib has sea themed bedding. It's quite lovely in there.
I bought some nursing shirts today. I actually am looking forward to nursing. Even though it was really really hard to do with Molly, hopefully this time it will be easier. And if it isn't, I'll still enjoy it. I know kinda weird but its true. I know this baby is going to be completely different - a new personality. I'm very excited to meet her. Brian is excited too. He loves his girls and he is an amazing dad. I could not do this without him. He's unbelievable and we are so lucky to have him. Mushy!
OK well I'd better wind down my brain a little bit. Hopefully I'll write a few more times before Wed.
Love you all and thank you for your good thoughts and well wishes. Good night!

4 More Days to Go!

We went to the pre-op appointment yesterday. The baby is still pretty high up (not really into position yet) and I have not dialated much. So unless something crazy happens this weekend, I have to be at St. Mary's at 10am on Wednesday (for blood work/drugs) and surgery is at noon. I can't eat the night before so it's going to be a rough morning with no food but I'm sure I'll be too nervous to care.

My Dr. wasn't too happy with the advice not to go to hospital on Tuesday when I was having all those contractions. He didn't even know I called and with all the staff I talked to (including his assistant). He is just as disappointed with this medical group as I am. Even though he's great, I don't think I'll be coming back here. Which means we'll have to find a new pediatrician too.

I have been having contractions every day now but they are are not regular.

My sister will be here on Monday. My mom and Brian's mom will be here on Tuesday. Everyone is very excited. I am too but I'm more nervous than anything.

More later...

Still No Baby

April has come and gone. Happy May 1st everyone. My contractions have slowed down a lot. I have my pre-op appointment tomorrow. I'll keep you all posted. So it's pretty much wait it out. I'm staying close to home and not driving just in case. Brian is working in the morning and then coming home early. You know - we need to pick up drycleaning, buy Jack some more cat food - that kind of thing that I can't do right now. I don't like being this inactive. I do need to rest and take it easy.

OK more to follow...

Labor????

It's April 30, 2008. It's 2ish. I've been up since 5am - contractions are 1/2 hour apart. They started last night around 10pm. I slept for about 4 or 5 hours. Dr office still says to wait until I have 5 in an hour and then go to the hospital. Brian is home. I'm tired. Got a little bit of a nap earlier.

The photo is from this morning. I look a bit puffy. Glad the weather cooled down. Molly is being so good. We've watched many a Disney movie today. Now she's napping. I think I'll do the same in a few minutes.

So what do you think? Is tonight a good night for a new baby? Tomorrow? Or she going to hold on for another week?

10 Days to Go

Man it was hot this weekend. My hands and feet are all swelly. Was a strange weekend - we didn't do much. Brian let me sleep in today because I was feeling really really awful. I feel better now but mentally, I'm totally off.
Dr appt on Friday went fine. Brian and Molly went with. Dr. Spieser said my weight was good (I weigh less than I did with Molly due to this lame diet). My blood sugar numbers are good. I've got more non stress testing tomorrow. Friday is my pre-op appointment. Oh course, I'm supposed to go straight into the hospital if my contractions become regular (5 in an hour) or if my water breaks.
I'm getting really nervous. I know ultimately all will be fine but I can't help feeling anxious and scared. A c-section is major surgery - recovery sucks but at least it won't be as tramatic as Molly's birth. I'm more nervous about having 2 kids - how will Molly react and frankly, just how am I going to do it? Will I go back to work? Where? You know, that type of thing. It's been 9 months since I've worked which is the longest time I've not worked since I was 14 years old! I love this time I've had and I thank my parents for being so supportive. I'm feeling overwhelmed and hormonal. Ah such is motherhood.
Anywho, I'm delivering at St. Mary's in Long Beach on Atlantic. I'll be there for 3-5 days so I hope I'll have some visitors (hint hint). Just call before. My sister, Brian's mom and my mom will all be here to help me take care of Molly and our new one. Brian is going to take a week off.
Some bonzo got a hold of my debit card and tried charging $800 worth of stuff. Fortunately we caught it in time, I cancelled the card but overall it was a real pain that we are still trying to recover from. Also the external drive on our computer failed this week so I might have lost some files. I'm really bummed about that. Brian managed to save a lot but it's going to be a long process. AHH! more things to worry about. It's just life trying to mix things up. OK, I'm going to stay positive.
Oh, my friend Debbie had her baby on April 22 at 3:50 am. It's a girl. Her name is Delilah (I don't know if that's spelled correctly). She was 8.5 lbs and 20" long. Congratulations to Debbie & Brian Shields! I can't wait to see a photo of her. I know they are busy trying to settle in - it's their first and boy do I remember how overwhelmed I was the first 3 months!
OK it's late. I'm hot. I'll watch a little more tv and then attempt sleep.
Good night all.

I'm soo done

Today I feel pretty yucky. Molly & I have been watching movies all day. We took a nap, we went out for one errand and now we are just hanging out at home. I feel bad keeping her at home all day when I feel bad but at least she can run around in the yard. I really really think this baby is coming early. If I make it to May 7th, I will be surprised.
Obviously this photo isn't from today. Today's photo would look like something the cat dragged in and I'd be wearing jammies or sweats.
And the really good news is LOST is back on tomorrow so I'd better not into labor til maybe the weekend. :)
OK for something fun! Here is a list of 50 names. One of these names will be given to Baby Roth #2! Happy Guessing!
